The beginning of a new era!
On December 9th 2009 an exciting meeting of the local council of Pontresina took place, where it was decided that the Sporthotel Pontresina will be sold to the current hoteliers, the Pampel family.
We are happy for the confidence placed in us and are looking forward to a new Sporthotel era.
The Sporthotel Pontresina gets a boost
May 2009: Sporthotel Pontresina makes it into the Top 25 nice-price hotels in Switzerland, being ranked 18th by the newspaper SonntagsZeitung. Details about the rating criteria can be found in the pages of Switzerland Tourism.
And yet another honorary mention:
We are happy to announce that on the 5th of December 2008 the Sporthotel received a commendation in the newspaper 'Tages-Anzeiger' for being ranked 6th in their yearly Winter Hotel Rating in the category 'Best 3-Star hotels in Switzerland'.

Skike
The skiking motion technique is very similar to the cross-country skating style. Thanks to 'Skike', skiing is now also possible in summer. Read more about our Skike offers
Cable-cars & public transport
If you are a guest in our hotel for a minimum of 2 nights in the summer season the use of all cable cars and public transport in the Upper Engadine is free - including on days of arrival and departure. This means you can use the services of the Oberengadiner Bergbahnen, the Rhätische Bahn and the Engadinbus (Website in German only) between Maloja - Brail - Alp Grüm. We wish you a happy ride!
